  • This national monument is located about 15 miles south of Alamogordo, NM
  • Large gypsum sand dunes form creating beautiful shifting shapes
  • Long shadows form as the sun quickly sets in winter time
  • Despite having only a few hours, we were fortunate to have fabulous light
  • Lavender hues are common in the desert magic hour
  • The sunset makes you want to return many more times in the future.
