  • Most of the chicks were already getting close to fledging when we arrived in early March.

  • Well, every child gets messy.
  • Older chicks can be as larger or even heavier than the parents.
  • The chicks will peck around the beak of the parent until they are fed.
  • Parents will feed the young with regurgitated krill or fish.
  • Despite being quite awkward on land, penguins are rockets in the water.
