The beauty of the area is also a draw

  • This is a wonderful surprise for fly fishers within a few hours of Dallas, TX
  • There were plenty of rainbow trout to be caught

  • Most of the fishing is within Beavers Bend State Park

  • This is a section of the spillway from Lake Broken Bow
  • This year, 2016, I returned to primarily hike and do a little fishing
  • I was joined by some family members
  • Wonderful views from the hikes
  • Last year, 2015, they had a significant flood that completely changed the landscape
  • The once narrow, stream-like spillway is now a roaring river
  • This is the same location as the prior spillway image from 2013
  • The large gouging into the banks gives it a NE coastal appearance
  • Despite the changed terrain, it still holds fish
  • While very different in appearance, it still has a lot of beauty
